Today in CWI, we talked about the sticks and stones saying and how words supposedly cannot hurt you. That was proven wrong when there was a study in Illinois that proved there is verbal abuse. We learned that that quote is not true and that when we hear it again, we should tell that words really can hurt you. Max, Luke and Eli preesented their political system about the theory of communism. We learned that they try to make their country perfect. Bri, Erin and Jessica are presenting now about the Practice of Communism. There are only five countries in the world with this political system. The practice of communism is when the governement controls everything, so whatever you make, they can take it from you and share it equally with everyone, claiming it will help a higher social oreder.Jena, Dru and Haley are now presenting about democracy. Direct democracy is when people as a whole make their own decisions. Representative democracy is when people elect congress members to make lawas for them. The US is a representative democracy. There are no countries that are direct. We learned that there are a lot of different political systsms. Today was a very eductaional day.
