We debated again today. The first topic was gun control. My opinion is that the any American citizen should be able to own a gun only after a background check. Lauren told us that Australia made guns illegal. That is kind of crazy. The laws are really strict there. Next, we talked about environmental laws. Democrats wanna make everything environmentally friendly. Republicans are like well the world has been around forever so we cant just ruin it in one life time. They dont wanna try to ruin it but they arent worried about ruining it completely. They wanna reserve natural resources. I think that some people can try to save the planet but there isn't goin to be too big of an impact because it would take everyone to turn our ways around. We want to change all cars to electric but its going to make a big impact on the oil companies and anyone involved with oil. We talked about alternatives to fuel for a long time. After that we talked about affirmative action laws. Affirmative action laws say that you shouldnt discriminate against other races. Democrats are for affirmative action laws. Blacks and whites should just get along and not make racist comments about eachother. Republicans are kinda saying that we dont really need it anymore. I believe that we dont really need it anymore. There isnt that much racism going on nowadays. Affirmative action laws are starting to weaken. I don't think that we need them anymore. Maybe just for a little longer. Older, male, men are still racist. I think within the next decade, we wont need them for sure.
