Today we started our democrat-republican discussion. Our first topic was abortion. Democrats are pro-choice. Republicans are pro-life. I think that abortion should be illegal. The only way I think it should be permitted is if it was for sure going to kill the mother. The baby could also possibly die, so you would loose 2 lives, not just one.The next topic was flag burning. Republicans are against it, democrats are for it. I am against it. I think it's disrespectful, and basically telling all the soldiers who died and are still fighting that we don't care and what they're fighting for isn't worth it.Next, we started talking about gun control, but ran out of time. Republicans think that we should be allowed to own guns one of the ammendments is a right to own fire arms. Democrats think that we should do a better job of keeping guns out of the hands of criminals and make it more difficult to own a gun. They think this should lower the violence level and the amount of accidental shootings.
