The Taliban was the government from 1996 to 2001. Binladin is originally from Sadia Arabia. Binladin was banned from Sadia Arabia. Taliban let Binladin come and set up terrorist schools. That is why they are allies. The U.S. is helping these groups because we give Sadia Arabia money for oil then the send some of it out to the groups. The Next topic was War in Afghanistan. The U.S. took out a lot of Taliban members. During the Bush Admidestration the focas was on Iraq and not Afghanistan. NATO was made after World War II and it was a alliance. NATO took over in 2006.
