September 10 - 14

Monday- Finish the 2nd part of the test.

Tuesday - Watch video about 9/11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon.

Wednesday - Finished the rest of the 9/11 video and started on questions.

1. What was President Bush doing when he heard of the attacks?

The president was talking to an Elementary School about there reading program

2. According to President Bush, what is the first thing a leader needs to do for the country in times of crisis?

A leader needs to show some type of calmness. If the leader isn't calm the citizen won't be calm.

3. Why did the Secret Service refuse to allow President Bush to go back to Washington D.C. right away?

They said that is was unsafe because it wouldn't be smart for him to go into the heat of battle.

4. What did the US government/military do to to ensure another attack did not occur?

President Bush said all air port need to shut down and all planes need to land, otherwise they would get shot down, because they were seen as terrorist.

5. Why was President Bush sent to Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha?

Because there was an underground buncker, that had good communications and good safety.

6. Why did President Bush eventually insist on going back to Washington D.C. later that day against the will of the Secret Service?

He wanted to give his address in DC and not the buncker.

They may have thought he was scared if he had sent out his address in another place besides DC.

7. What was the point of President Bush's message to the nation on the evening of 9-11?

He wanted to bring the terrorist who did this to justice. And he wanted to figure out who did this.

8. Why did President Bush decide not to blame the CIA/FBI for not doing their job?

He didn't want them to focus on the past he wanted them to focus on the present.

9. How did President Bush feel when he heard that Osama bin Laden had been killed?

He felt greatful, he felt releaved. ANd a sence of closure.
