Greece- a small country in Europe composed of about 6000 islands. It is surrounded by the Aegean, Ionian, Meditarannian seas. The seas were important because it provided transportation and trade. The reason Greece was so city-state based is because of the ountains seperating them. The mountains also made transportation difficult. Agriculture was difficult due to the unfertile land. They didnt have a huge population due to this.
