Monday- Labor day no school
Tuesday- Class begins presenting today. First group up is Kyle, Dominic, and Sam. They are presenting on Herbert Hoover. Herbert Hoover made millions working as a mine evaluator/ engineer. He later fed the world and became famous for this, this led to him becoming president. During his presidental run the Great Depression occured. Second group is Tianna and Vanessa presenting on Peggy Whitson. She spent the longest time in space (665 days) of all time and had the most space walks for women at 10.
Wednesday- Avery and Jenny presented Ashton Kutcher. Ashton partied a lot and ruined his college carrier. He then became a model and was very into that. This kicked off his acting carrier which started with "That 70's Show". Thorn is a website that he has created to stop human trafficing. Lucas and Luke present on George Washingtion Carver. He was the first African American to attend Iowa State. Became a food chemist to improve yeilds for farmers. He is knownas the peanut man, used them and sweat potatoes to create hundreds of different things. Logan and Kira are presenting on the five Sulivian brothers. These brothers enlisted in the war after Pearl Harbor and were all on the same ship when there ship was shot and all five brothers died. Now family members are not allowed to be asigned to the same ship so that they all wont die if a ship goes down.
Thursday- Carrie Chapman Catt is the first presentation of the day. She was a large part of womans rights. Joined many womans sufferage groups. Next is Glenn Miller, he was a band leader and a big band trombonist. Joined the airforce and sang and played for the airforce. John Wayne is the next presentation. He is famous for his acting carrier, where he acted in many movies, and produced some of his own movies. We watched a current event about Trump wanting to buy Greenland at the end of class.
Friday- Mr. Bruns asigns new forum post leaders and he tells us that we will be having a test on Tuesday. My group was first to present, which was about Buffalo Bill Cody. The next presentation is about Mamie Eisenhower, who is famous for being the first lady. She helped set up meetings in The White House. She also helped women be able to vote for the president.
