Senator Inhofe, Beliefs on Global Warming.

James Inhofe is a United States Senate. He deals with Environment and Public Works. He gave a speech in Washington on September 25 about his opinions on Global Warming. They are very different than the typical America. He didn’t really talk about the science of it, but what the media is covering about climate change. I think this would be interesting to see the crowds’ expressions during this speech. I bet they would be very diverse. He mentioned in his speech that people have been saying we are going to have global cooling/warming since 1895. Now, this may not sound bad, but some of them were over lapping. How can you have global warming and global cooling at the same time? Another issue that doesn’t make sense to him is that scientists believe that the Earth was warmer during the Medieval Warm Period than it is today. This seems really strange to me.Scientists have stated that global climate changes happen all the time from natural causes. Senator Inhofe said in his speech that after seeing the scary situations that are computer generated, he is now more concerned about the climate change from the computer models. He thinks that the global warming alarmists should be asked this question: “What if you are correct about man-made catastrophic global warming?” He does not believe they would be able to give you an answer with backup support. The media and global warming alarmists have been thanking California for limiting CO2. Senator Inhofe believes that this is a ‘costly-feel good California measure, which is actually far less severe than Kyoto and will have no impact on the climate – only the economy.’ Senator Inhofe has very strong beliefs. I think that limiting the amount of CO2 used is good idea. It doesn’t make sense to not try it, what’s it going to do?Many people including Inhofe and Bjorn Lomborg from Denmark do not think that Global Warming should be a top concern. They would like to see the world focusing more on fighting diseases, stopping malaria, preventing and fixing our nation’s poverty and building communications. I agree with them on this a little. All of these topics do need to be focused on, but at the same time I think we still need to keep global warming in mind. Some people just think that the earth’s climate goes up and down on a cycle. This is a good theory, considering this has happened a lot in the past. Senator Inhofe brought up the movie, Al Gore’s Inconvenient Truth. He disagrees with a lot of things that were included in the film. Senator Inhofe has some persuasive statements, but others of them are a little far fetched. I think that if we all just cut back on the trips we take and car pool more, a lot of this could be settled.
