This is what I learned in your class.GovernmentsWell, the very first thing I remember was the differing government that were either once around or still around the world today. The lesser of the two regular governments still in use today, Socialism, is the thought that everybody would push together for the same project and get the same amount of pay and housing for the same amount of work. Examples of societies based under this philosophies include the Mormons, which later abandoned most socialistic practices, and Canada, where poor people get the appalling government health insurance and the rich ones come down to America and pay out-of-pocket for our health care. A standing example of this government, Communism, is based on a system of socialism that Karl Marx, a German philosopher, created the base for in the 1800’s. This Government was widely used in Asia in the 20th Century by Soviet influence starting when the Soviets themselves had a workers revolution. In history, Monarchies that were more present during the medieval ages were more often than not absolute monarchies. An absolute Monarch has complete control of everyone in his land and has no restrictions or laws that he must abide to. Monarchies that I believe were more standard from Imperialistic ages until now are constitutional monarchies that have restrictive councils or groups that can veto and limit the power of the ruling monarch. Today, Constitutional Monarchs are more for ceremonies and hold no true power in the government. Then we have the Capitalistic Governments. I like to think that the US is capitalistic and not socialist, but everyday it seems we get closer to being just red and taking out the white and blue… Anyways, capitalistic governments allow their citizens to have free trade and tend to have fewer restrictions on things. Capitalism also tends to be democratic, or allow their citizens to choose their leaders. The Greeks first used democracy, and then the US made one of the longest standing Democracies in the world.Republican/Democrat IssuesGenerally, I side with the Republicans on every issue. The Republican Party is made up of hardworking middle class people who are just like me, religious and patriotic. I personally see the Democratic Party as the party that spearheads the attacks against personal liberty, religion, and happiness. The term Liberal means exactly this in my mind. Liberals have a “loose” interpretation of the Constitution, which means anything goes by them.Issues-AbortionDemocrats think it is all right to kill a baby fetus because it’s the mother’s choice to kill her child.Republican’s believe that religion says no so that it is wrong to kill kids.Flag BurningDemocrats think it is a freedom of speech.Republicans think that it is wrong to burn the flag because the flag stands for you and every other American.Guns LawsDemocrats think that more guns laws mean safer citizens.Republicans think that enforcing our gun laws we have now means safer citizens.EnvironmentDemocrats think that it is the government’s job to intervene and save the environment and give the EPA more standards and a larger payroll.Republicans think that the environment needs protection, but not as much as Democrats do.Race IssuesDemocrats think that race plays a big part in everything and are all about helping the minorities. An example is affirmative action laws.Republicans think that race doesn’t play an issue and want everyone to have the exact same laws and rights.Minimum WageDemocrats think that a higher minimum wage helps out the poor more.Republicans think that a higher minimum wage hurts businesses more.TaxesDemocrats want higher taxes so they can pay their programs to help the poorRepublicans want lower taxes to help the economy out.Health CareDemocrats want universal government health care so that all can have it.Republicans want private health care so that you’re in control of you health care.Foreign AffairsDemocrats want more involvement with the European Programs and the UN. They want to act like Europeans, which means less military spending.Republicans think that we need more military spending and less involvement with the Europeans.Gay RightsDemocrats want gay marriage legal and for equal rights and love.Republicans want to be religious and not have same sex marriage because it’s wrong.Death PenaltyDemocrats think that the death penalty is too inhumane of a treatmentRepublicans think that if you have committed a very, very bad crime, you will lose your life because of it and deter people from doing it.Prayer in SchoolDemocrats don’t want anything to do with religion and government and this is one that they really don’t like.Republicans think that it us is good to have a religion and that prayer helps better the students themselves.War in IraqDemocratsRepublicansTerrorist Related ItemsWell, first we started off with Guantanamo Bay. Guantanamo Bay is a place for terrorists to be detained so they can’t terrorize anybody and so that we can clean up their countries without them interfering. I believe that these people if found guilty, should pay the death penalty and be made into examples of what Americans think of 9/11.I personally believe that Iraq is more important at the moment to keep stable, safe, and secure than Afghanistan. For if we fortify Iraq, the terrorists will not be able to operate effectively in Iraq and that would seal off and begin to corner Al-Qaeda and their supporters to be brought to justice. We can also use Iraq as a staging base for possible operations into Iran. Then comes the topic of Iran. Iran in my opinion is a ticking time bomb of war that might happen from any number of foreign armies, US, UN, or even Israel. They have had a troubled past with Iraq in the past but I do not think that they have had any real trouble with them recently. However, if they keep building up their nuclear program like they want to there in going to be some serious consequences, for everyone involved.Afghanistan is the objective to take. However, you can’t just bull rush it so that Al-Qaeda can operate in a Taliban environment. We need Iraq as an example of what we can do to help people better themselves and become a helping hand. You have to stabilize the country and win over the people. Then we can leave Afghanistan a happier place than it was when we first came to it. My only Problem with Obama’s way of doing things is that he wants to move out of Iraq, which is bad too do, and then set a timetable for Afghanistan. Setting a timetable only allows the terrorists to know when to attack the people, pillage, and set flames to all the work we have been doing there.Other Foreign AffairsSince I was just previously discussing our involvement in other countries, I figure that it would be wisest to continue with the US’s and UN’s involvement in Rwanda. Now at first, I will admit, that I thought that we shouldn’t do anything in Rwanda. Now, I see that I was wrong, which is very, very rare. I only saw the two ethnicities, not the moderates in between. When a society has moderates, I consider them to be more modernized than other countries. Therefore, the radicals are controlling the public, making it totalitarianism; so therefore, when tyranny is involved the UN should be there to stop it. Of course, the UN isn’t worth half the money we spend on it. They would rather watch The Pride and Prejudice then help people eliminate oppression and do what they are supposed to do. I mean, just put some men out there, your enemies have machetes. A M-60 machine gun shoots high rates of .30 cal bullets with devastating effects, and the M-60, if I remember right, was retired from military service a while ago. It’s only a surplus gun now. However, there might be political backlash, but the question is, would it be worth it to stop genocide? Then Sudan is somewhat more important yet at the same time somewhat less important. The Militia groups, the Janjaweed, are Arabs close to another terrorist group, Al-Qaeda. Therefore, we could invade Sudan, get information on Osama Bin Laden, and then move to capture and kill Osama. However, we can’t do that because the Sudanese government “won’t let us in.” Although we can do whatever we want because we are America, politicians avoid this topic. I do not blame them. Darfur is more complicated than Rwanda. The problems lie within the ethnics, for it is not just two names of groups. It lies within race and religion. The Blacks hate the Arabs and the Arabs hate the Blacks. But, I also read something about a white southern area, but I do not know where they stand.Somalia is just an anarchist country that is currently housing many criminals and possible future terrorist organizations. Somalian waters need to be patrolled at all times by ships, but I don’t think there is anything else we can do for it. I guess a dictatorship will be set up and there’s not a whole lot we can do for it.Climate Change. It’s very sad for me that like half of all the regions with polar bears are declining in population, but seriously, didn’t we agree that it wasn’t happening after James Inhoffe? When did we suddenly go back to global warming? And why hasn’t been Mr. Bruns been offering that Global Warming isn’t man made as a theory after we read more Global Warming propaganda? We just went back to accepting Al Gore’s “Global Warming” like we do everywhere else. Anyways, I’m supposed to say things about going green and hurting the economy, driving a Toyota Pruis, recycling, and joining a some sort hippie group or whatever. But, thankfully, I’m a republican, and I’m not going to do that. Instead, I’m going to talk about how it’s a hoax. Who do you see rallying behind Global Warming? Younger people are always the ones parading around with Global Warming because they have not had the media switch stories in their lifetime. I always knew about the Global Cooling of the 50’s, but I never knew that it went as far back as the 1890’s. The earth cycles between stages naturally and there’s nothing we can do to stop it.OverpopulationMr. Bruns, I honestly do not care what your propaganda says. I’m not a cause of overpopulation. Overpopulation is when you have too many people living in a certain area, over populating the area. Just because I’m wasteful and live a good life does not mean I’m a cause of overpopulation. The Chinese and Indians are the world leaders in overpopulation. You propaganda is just trying to make me recycle and vote for them in every election. I will not vote for the Democratic Party anytime soon, and that’s not going to change for a long time.GlobalizationWell, Globalization is when technology allows us to connect to each other easier making the world smaller. Globalization 1.0 is when Europeans met the new world and Imperial ages happened. The governments fueled this move. Then Globalization 2.0 is when Companies started to go offshore and look for materials and profits around the world. This age happened in the 19th and 20th century. Then Globalization 3.0 is happening right now and is fueled by individuals looking to make money and started in 2000. Now I have to compete with hundreds of millions of kids in China who can do my job for less money. So now I have to work hard so that that wont happen to me and that I have those Chinese working for me.That just happened.
