There are 7 essential topics that i shall epically pwn in this blog post. 1. Students will understand the main political and economic systems of the world. There are 7 major types of government. The simplest of the 7 would be an Anarchy. Which is basically no government at all, or an absence of government if you will. Then you've got the two monarchies. I think the name may be in some way related to the butterfly. That's just an inference of mine. First is the Constitutional Monarchy, meaning the ruler doesn't have total control of the nation, or rule with an iron fist!, as i like to say. Next is the Absolute Monarchy, which is the exact opposite of a constitutional monarchy. In this form of "government" There is one single ruler and what he says goes. No restrictions, no limitations. In a Democracy, people have a say in what happens in their nation. There is no ruler, yet there is a president. With Communism, the government has complete control. In a Socialist Government, they are accustomed to the Robin Hood theory. You know, take from the rich and give to el poor? In a Capitalist Government, everyone can own there own business without much government interference. Super Pwned. The next subject to be amazingly pwnd, would be : 2. Students will understand the differences between the major political parties in the United States. The two major political parties, Republican y Democrat, are represented by two colors. Republican Red and Democrat Blue. There also represented by two animals. Republican Elephlant and Democrat Jackass(donkey). They mix those two symbols together and obtain the Republican Red Elephant and the Democrat Blue Donkey as there insignias. Republicans wish to base there economic decisions on laissez-faire, which means Let it be. They also try to make people less dependant upon the government. They also follow the Trickle-down theory. Meaning the filthy rich tycoons get tax cuts, which eventually helps the poor. We, the environmental-tree huggin'- Democrats, want higher taxes and are more liberal. On the subject of minimum wage: Democrats wish to increase it( Yay, i get paid more!) and Republicans wish to laissez-faire it. On the subject of Flag Burning: Republicans see it as unpatriotic and the Democrats see it as freedom of speech. On the subject of el abortiono: Republicans see it as illegal murder and the Democrats say it is the mother's choice. On the subject of Gun Control: Democrats see nothing wrong with it and republicans thing every citizen owning a gun is insane and could probably bring up the number of deaths. On the subject of Gay Rights: Democrats think the choice isn't theirs to make and Republicans say marriage is reserved for a man and a woman. My family belongs to the Democratic side.Subject de numero tres ser total pwnd,( third subject to be pwnd) es: 3. Students will understand the causes and effects of global warming. Oh, there are many causes of Global Warming. Most scientists blame humans for the majority of global warming. They say we are a major factor in the greenhouse effect. Which is basically the earth heating up, which is strongly exaggerated according to Friedman. Anyway burning fossil fuels and deeforestation are what the humans are accused of. Burning fossil fuels obviously adds those chemicals and such to el ozone layer. Deforestation obviously reduces oxygen and increases CO2 emissions. Effects of GW consist of flooding, droughts, and supposedly another ice age. Which i think is stupid. Some people don't believe global warming exists. Others say its obviously happening. There's a bunch of... wacky arguments out there.Ugh! Subject #4: 4. Students will understand the causes and effects of overpopulation. Just to switch things up a little, lets start with effects. Na that's to hard let's start with causes. It occurs all over the world, but one the worst cases are in Africa. Overpopulation just means to many people in the world right? WRONG! It's also not how much affect each person has on the world. How much resources they take up, etc. The main cause would be lack of knowledge( about birth control, condoms, other safe sex procedures). The major effects would be no fresh water, not enough food(starvation, malnutrition), less jobs, higher crime rate, etc. Overpopulation is more of a problem than it may appear.Pwnage, subject 5, yada-yada-yada. : 5. Students will understand the impact of globalization. Globilization has had a growth spurt over the past couple centuries. Friedman, as i mentioned earlier, describes the world as being flat. Anyone can use a computer now. You can talk to people from long distances without a phone. Shipping items is faster. I think a major point of globilization, is that China has more Honors kids than we have kids. Ouch that kinda drops the employment rate for us. We have a lot of competition. We're really gonna have to step it up a notch if we're gonna compete with China.Almost there, subject 6: 6. Students will be able to locate major countries of the world. Well, that's pretty black and white. I guarantee you this was the hardest subject.YES! Finally! The Last One!: 7. Students will be able to explain their understanding of recent current events(Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Darfur, Rwanda,Somalia). The War in Iraq began on March 20th, 2003. The U.S., U.K., and a few other countries invaded Iraq. We believed they were making weapons of mass destruction( one of my blog topics was on this). They violated the treaty they signed because there's was no consequence for doing it. The child and the cookie jar routine. So, our consequence was we invaded them. We also wish for them to become Democratic. The war in Afganistan occured October 7, 2009. Basically, we were ticked about 9/11, we wanted Osama bin-laden dead, and wanted to deprive the taliban of power. Osama Bin-Laden was the leader of Al-Queda. The taliban are Afganistans government. Iran's leader is Mahmoud Ahmedinejad. Everything he does though, is approved by Ayatolla Khomeini. He's just not seen in the paper and on T.V. Most of Iran's problems include the word Nuclear somewhere. Issues in Darfur started on February 26th, 2003. The government of Sudan was accused of being favoritist toward the arabs. A group supporting Darfur is the JEL. The main group opposing them is the Janjaweed(Devil on Horseback). I truly dont think the UN is doing there job very well. In 1994 there was a genocide in Rwanda. Around 500,000 people were killed by machete, starvation, etc. The hutus are attempting to kill off all of the "cockroaches" who are the Tutsies. This all began when their president with the weird name was assassinated. The Un for some reason doesn't consider it genocide for whatever senseless reason they have. It lasted about 100 days. Somalia is an example of a failed state or anarchy and it's one of the worst ones. There is a high amount of crime, terrorism, and murder. There's also some pretty awful piracy goin on around there. This country needs help and I mean a lot of it. Sorry Somalians.YES!!!!! Victory!! Epic Success! Now i can study for semester tests, yay!
