. Students will understand the impact the Great Depression and New Deal had on the US.-- great depression caused by the stock market crash mainlly, inflated crop prices, world wide depression, new deal geared to stop and reverse the decline, helped some with all policys and organizations enstated

-Pearl Harbor-- brought US in WWII
-D-Day-- Allied invasion on Normandy, France, made Germans think attack was somewhere else, massive amphiboius assult
-Atomic bombing-- ended WWII, brought a new form of warfare into existants
-Africa/European Front-- Allied liberation of colonys and Axis controlled countrys,
-Pacific Front-- theatre including Japan on Axis, and America and the UK on allys, island hopping strategy adopted
3. Students will understand how/why the Allies won WWII.-- allied victory due to the massive amount of war material and people able to turn out, and Germans fighting a two front war

g. Nuclear Arms Race and Reductions
h. How the Cold War ended.
5. Students will understand the causes, effects and major events of the Korean Conflict.-- UN coming to aid of southern non-communist south korea, using "Containment" policy of communism
6. Students will understand the causes, effects and major events of the Vietnam Conflict.
7. Students will understand the causes and effects of the Persian Gulf Wars as well as the War on Terror.
