Alright, So for my Assigned blog i watched Saving Private Ryan. This Film was directed in 1998 by Stephen Speilburg, and has Tom Hanks as Capt. of the 2nd Division Rangers. The beginning of the movie Shows an elderly vetran at the American Cemetery in Normandy, collapsed at a gravestone that had a solider that was in the same Platoon as him. Overwhelmed with emotion, the movie spins into a flashback of his view in the war.
Then, it goes into D-Day, showing the rangers at full force hitting the sandbars of Omaha Beach. The movie has very good detail but is also very graphic. It shows full force war, and you can see the emotion, frightfullness, and adreneline fueling the movie through all the actors. Then, Capt. Miller is assigned to find Pvt. Ryan, after the orders say to find him in France The reason Capt. Miller is sent on the mission, is to make sure Pvt. Ryan makes it home to see his mother, after his two brothers perished in the war and he is the only thing his mother has left. Ironicly, Pvt. Ryan is actually from Iowa.
The movie goes on throughout France, and has multiple battle scenes, as the one with Vin Diesel getting shot by a German sniper outside of a village.
At Around the end of the movie, Capt Miller and his paratroopers find Pvt. Ryan, and he fights along side the other soliders to ensure he makes it out safe. Right at the end, Capt. Miller dies, and Pvt. Ryan lives to tell the tale.
Just to make sure everyone is on the same page, Pvt. Ryan is the old guy in the beginning at the cemetery, not Capt. Miller, Aka Tom Hanks. I got confused, and had to re-read the summary.
