I just got done watching Saving Private Ryan. I thought it was a very good movie that gave a good overveiw and showed what WWII was like for many soldiers. I thought it was a good movie and very informative. To sum up the movie it starts off with a man visiting a cemetary when he finds the gravestone he was looking for and fall to his knees crying. The gravestone was for Captain Mller who was ordered to save him and bring him home.
After this it goes to the screne of Normandy. You can see the Americans storm the beach and it shows one of the killed men to have the last name Ryan. Three of the four Ryan brothers died. As it shows General Marshall looking at the letters that are to be sent home to inform the family of the sons death. The letters of the 3 Ryan boys died days within each other and the letters will all reach their mother on the same day. He then orders that the last Ryan brother be found and sent home immediately.
After a mix up with the wrong private James Ryan they find him. They regroup in Ramelle and Captain Miller informs Ryan of the death of his brothers. Ryan and the others defend a bridge in the town of Ramelle and hold out as a group of Germans come in the town. Nearly all of the Americans die in defense of the bridge, but Ryan survives. Captain Miller is shot by a German that they had captured earlier and set free. As the German tanks are about to cross the bridge. American fighter planes take them out and save them. It then goes back to the scene of Ryan visiting Captain Millers grave where he asks his wife is he is a good man and that he has led a good life, that was worth the sacrifice of Captain Millers life.
