I went to Austin Cuddie-Hudson’s house where he has Netflix on demand. We ordered the movie called The Last Drop about WWII. It says three stars but we’ll have to see how good it is. From the review that was written it sounds pretty good. It starts out with Americans intercepting telegraph messages that are being sent by the German army. This movie shows actual footage from WWII which is pretty interesting. It is from the Britain point of view. The Britain’s drop in paratroopers while taking on heavy fire. Well we started the movie called the last drop but it wasn’t catching our attention so we decided to switch movies to saints and soldiers. This movie is partly about the malnedy massacre. It starts out with troops finding all the bodies that were killed during the massacre. American troops are being held captive by a german fleet. An American troop tries escaping but is shot in the head. This then leads into all the prisoners fleeing. All are killed but four American soldiers who escaped. They only have one rifle with four rounds. The four Americans have to find their way back to alley lands with limited supplies. They find an abandoned house to hold up in for a couple of days. Each soldier takes duties on watch. While they are held up in the house they tell their stories about each other’s lives and where they are from. One soldier named deacon keeps hallucinating and sees people. A german jeep comes along and stops by the house to camp out for the night so the American soldiers are forced to hide under the floor boards. During the night the germans here bombs so they leave. In the morning the troops are searching around and find a british paratrooper that got snagged in a tree. They help him down and he joins their group. He has a hand gun. The Frenchman has a map and they devise a plan to get to the next post which is only twenty miles away. One of the American soldiers knows how to speak german so he can translate what they say. They are all sleep deprived. While hiding out in another bunker some german troops come by but the german troops didn’t see them. Deacon, the guy that keeps hallucinating starts freakiong out and yelling but the other soldiers cover his mouth and throw him on the ground. The reason why he is hallucinating is because he accidentally killed two women and six children because he was sent in to kill a sniper. One of the four soldiers falls through an abandoned house and gets injured. They come upon another house that is inhabited with a mother and a daughter. One of the guys infiltrate the house and the mother at first grabs a knife but then puts it down and decides to help out the Americans. The soldiers finally get a chance to get a good rest with blankets and recover. They are forced with a strong blizzard that holds them up for a while. Germans come to the house and try to rape the mother. The Americans kill one of the two germans and they later catch up to the other german that fled. The german makes a deal and gives up positions on some of their flanks. Deacon lets him go. The Americans get all of the guns out of the german tank and set off for to deliver the message. While they are on their way they meet up with a little german group and try and go around them. But it fails. They start taking on fire and one American dies and the british soldier is wounded. The Americans are taking on heavy fire. Another American soldier is killed. The british soldier falls into a river. A german soldier sneaks up on the two remaining soldiers and actually helps the American soldiers out by leaving them a jeep to escape. The two American soldiers and the british soldier dress up in german gear and head for the alley lines. The mash on the gas and head for their own lines. The Americans realize that the soldiers are trying to make it back to their own lines so they provide cover fire. One more of the American troops that were trying to make it back dies. The british troop and one American troop make it back successfully.
This was a very dramatic movie and I enjoyed it a lot. It is actually based on the story of the malnedy massacre which is even more cool. Sorry this blog is so late. I have been battling mono for the last week and when I get to school its past third hour and when I get home all I can do is sleep because the mono just takes it out of me. I plan to be to class tomorrow and hopefully I’m better by next week. Mono really takes it out of you though. .
