Railroads have undoubtably changed america in a huge way but do we all know the history behind them if the answer was no then Bruns you need to start paying attention in class. Railroads helped make time zones and made the United States smaller. These railroads were very predujuce towards farmers and charged them extra so the goverment enacted laws such as the Granger law that kept railways from charging extra to farmers. Also some towns were run by rail ways and these companies would sometimes pay out money that could only be used within that same town and that upset a lot of people.
