Today in class Mr. Bruns showed us this cool new slide show maker thing by prezi.com. Then he told us that our next current event is free choice, the polish presedent was on his way to a world war two rememberance of their soldiers that were killed, and he died that day.
Then we went over our new health care plan:
In the old system people would get health care from the company they worked for or get it from another company or insurance dealer. The problem with that is that people working small buisnesses would not be able to provide it for them selves and it would cost a lot a month depending on the type of insurance. If you have a pre-existing condition insurance wouldn't always help you.
New insurance plan: can be misleading by the name, is out to help millions of people with their health care, small buisnesses will now be able to apply for a tax credit to get the insurance, makes it more affordable for middle class, sets in common sense rules of the road. You can't lose your insurance if you suddenly become sick, you can stay on your parents plan until your twenty-six, wont cover abortion or illegal immigrants, will open more jobs in the health care industry.
You should be able to keep your health care if you got laid off or lost your job, 10% tax on tanning.
Why republicans are so against it: Is it so important that everybody has to have it, is it a right? Who should have access to it and why? We are one of the few industrialized counties that don't require people to have health care.
