The US had very little say in the Treaty of Versailles

If anything the treaty ensured that the US would return to normalcy

Many were opposed to Wilson's League of Nations

The senate refused to ratify the Treaty of Versailles

did not want to become invovled with foreign affairs

US made a modest treaty with Germany on August 25, 1921

we returnded to Isolationism

The economy boomed , the prohibition failed, and times were good

gov returned to isolationism

the gov was a Laissez Faire Democracy

the stock market crashed and sent the country and world into the Great Depression

the country was not particularly involved with foriegn affairs apart form trade and comunnication

US passed several Neutrality Acts in three consecutive years when word of another great war began to brew

Neutralilty Act prohibited the trade of arms, munitions, and other instruments of war

FDR during WW2

was elected as the NY state Senator

only president that was elected to serve four terms

FDR was first elected on March 4, 1933, just 32 days after Hilter was appointed Chancellor

FDR won a landslide second term victory in 1937

won another landslide victory the third time

Started fireside chats

Developed the first and second new deal

Pull the US out of the Depression

develop a stable economy

End Axis power's reign

returned to isolationism with teh exception of trade

Through out ww2 America dropped two bombs on Japan

During ww2 American industry also had to support the nations allies with weapons and supplies

american supplied quite a bit of ammunition adn weapons for the war

the US was also busy making thousands of trucks and jeeps and continuing to design better air crafts

9. How did WWII impact/effect the country?

Stimulated the economy

brought the great depression to an end

new industrial complexes were going up all across America creating jobs
