Pearl Harbor

Operation Z, known to the Japanese and The Battle of Pearl Harbor by the Americans. The unaccounced military strike took place on Sunday morning December 7, 1941. The U.S had intercepted thirteen of a fourteen part code from the Japanese which was a code for the bombing. The Japanese attack was a preventive from keeping the U.S Pacific Fleet from stopping the war that the Empire of Japan was planning in Southeast Asia against Netherlands and Great Britian and the U.S in the Philippines. The attack on Pearl Harbor consisted of two Japanese aerial attack waves totaling 353 aircrafts.

During the attack four U.S Navy battleships were sunk. The Japanese sank and damaged three cruisers, three destoyers, and a anti-aircraft training ship and one minelayer, and 188 U.S aircrafts were destroyed. 2402 personnel were killed and some 1282 were wounded.

After reading about Pearl Harbor I wonder what would of happened if we would of been able to get their code earlier and if we would of been able to fight them off. Also I read that they had a third attack planned, what if they would of bombed everything and dominated U.S and put our Naval force out of the war, what direction the war could of turned.
