Orville and Wilbur Wright

Wright Glider--

Orville (right) and Wilbur (left) Wright.Orville and Wilbur Wright were the men who first came up with the glider, then later many other forms of airplanes. In the early 20th century, the Wright brothers were bicycles manufacturers in Dayton, Ohio. They experimented with high power engines trying to make a "heavier-than-air" aircraft stay in the air. A glider, was the first outcome of experimenting. A glider is a motorless craft the moves from a higher to lower level by the action of gravity. Another form of movement is moving from a lower to higher level by using of air currents.Their next mission consisted of chosing a propeller and creating a wingspan of 40 feet 4 inches. On December 17 of 1903, they accomplished their first sucessful flight in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. The flight covered 120 feet and lasted a total of 12 seconds.
