Today in CWI was blog discussion day. We talked about our free choice blog we all had to do. Mr. Bruns was gone so Mr. Nelson was our teacher today. Lauren started off telling us about this man that was addicted to alcohol and used running to over come his addiction. Well, it worked he's now 70 years old and just ran in his 163rd marathon! That is crazy! He has even ran a 6 day marathon and only gets like a half hour to sleep. Haley then told us about a pastor at a methodist church that told his congregation he is a transgender. This is not against the clergy so he can ramain at the church. Jena was next. Her blog was about a typhoon in the Phillipenes. Its a very severe tropical storm. I went next. (: I talked about the typhoon that followed the one jena talked about. The Phillipenes got twice the damage since it got hit by both tropical storms. This cause streets to flood and people are getting around in kayacks. Bri talked about how violent video games and toys may become banned in Venezuala. Their crime rate is extremely high right now, 152 homicides a week! That is insane! They need to figure out how to stop these crimes! Erin talked about wildfires in California. Becca was next. She told us about these two girls that were found in Tennesee with their dad. One of the girls was 12 years old and pregnant! Dru talked about Yom Kimpur which is a jewish holiday. Mr. Bruns thought it would be interesting for her to blog about it. She talked about how you have to fast for the whole day. Thats basically what we all talked about today!
