Soo... today we started the class with doing a class review thing. Please please please do not plagerise. Plagerism is horrible, basically illegal. You will get a 0/20, and a detention.DO YOUR MESSAGE BOARD POSTS! They are super easy points, so just do it. You have to have ten every two weeks, it does not matter what the total is, just do your ten every week. There are too many people not doing the daily reflective blogs correctly. Do NOT focus on what you are doing that particular day, but base it on what you are learning. They help a lot on tests and are very good to use for notes. If you think about what you are learning in class and then reflect on it you will remember things better. You can work on these during the class as it goes. It is basically taking note of what comes out of Mr. Bruns's mouth or whoever the presenter is that day. It is not required to have personal opinions in these but it does help you remember better. Make sure days that Mr. Bruns is gone you write down what you learn so he is aware that you did not just waste a day, and wasted your time. By doing this you will not only get better test grades but better website grades also. Make sure you do not ever write I did not learn anything today on test days or any other day really. There needs to be more focus on the quality of writing in the assigned blog posts. Make sure the blogs are still grammatically correct, and make sure that you UNDERSTAND YOUR MATERIAL. It is so important to know what you are talking about in your blog. This also goes for any presentation that you do. Also, do not forget to space out your paragraphs during assigned blog posts. There needs to be more focus on how to correctly cite sources. This will be something that Mr. Bruns will go over. Do not just type text book, and do not just put something like www.wikipedia.com. This will not count as anything.Check the comments that Mr. Bruns is putting onto your websites and into your blog. This will tell you what you are doing wrong. The simple things in your website really affect your grade. There will be points taken off if you do not have your projects on there, or if you do not have your blogs pulled up to the top of your page.Mr. Bruns will start grading our websites on Monday and we will start testing that week also. Do well on your website, message boards, reflective, and daily blogs and you will do well in this class. In the long run, this class basically falls to writing abilities and the effort that you put into your work. Our website grade will be the first big grade of the quarter. Now that we know Mr. Bruns's expectations he will be expecting more out of us.Monday- will be a review day. We will not do blog discussions. Pick one topic from a chapter you have not done a topic on yet for your blog. The next project will be on Chapter 9. Chapter 9 is called the progressive era, and it deals a lot with Roosevelt and Wilson who were past presidents. These men brought a lot of progress to our country. A lot of things that helped the common person came out during this era. I'm just happy we aren't doing anything on the flat world. The blog post for this week will be on the section that you are assigned from this chapter. This blog is very important bacause not everyone is deeply researching every sectoin, so you are basically going to play teacher. Don't go skimpy on this blog, jam-pack it full of good information and loads of high quality pictures that you can explain. This blog post will be worth around forty points, which is double the usual. To study for the upcoming test on chapters 5-8 which we will start next week look at Mr. Bruns's power point, other people's in this class's power point, and your daily reflective blogs for notes. Focus on the main questions that Mr. Bruns has posted on his website, or use the following link :)Chapter 5-8 Key Questions. The rest of the class we are allowed to use as a work day. I will probably work on message board posts.
