Today in CWI we talked about the oral test tomorrow and how DOW Jones reached 10,000 so Mr. Bruns now owes donuts to everyone tomorrow :). He also said he is adding a question to the test tomorrow. Which will be what the DOW Jones is. If the DOW Jones is going up that means the economy is doing well and if it goes down that means the economy isnt doing too well. For the test you have to be able to talk about three current event stoires on the news share.Then we finished going through the PowerPoint. The first topic we talked about was abortion. Mr. Bruns showed us a graph of annual abortion per 1,000 women ages 15-44. He showed us another map of minor abortion and parental involvement laws in the United States. It was very interesting. In Iowa one parent must be informed beforehand. Then Bruns showed us the tax brackets for 2008. Iowa does not have the death penalty is something I learned today. Texas has 405 people killed because of death penalty as of about a year ago. Then he showed us a graph of number of people executed. Iowa could add a death penalty but as of right now they don’t and just havent added it back since it was banned. Then we practiced on the Europe map.
