Today in CWI Mr. Bruns told us about what is going to be on the oral test this week possibly. Then Mr. Bruns gave everyone in the class a topic for our assigned blogs. I got explain why we went to war with Iraq in 1990. Next we went over the Europe map. The test will be next week. Then we continued discussing our blogs about a failed state. A failed state can't control or protect anything. When there is a war or an invasion a failed state can happen. If your located by a country that is in a war you could end up being a filed state. An example of this is Chad. Chad's the fourth ranked failed state. Number two is Zimbabwe.Next we talked about the story about Somalia. Mohammad was 18 years old. He was born right after the dictator of the country died. They haven’t had a government since 1991. Mohammad lived his whole life throughout chaos. His dad got hurt so Mohammed had to work to supply the family with food. He made about $60 a month. Somaliland is a part of Somalia that wants to be its own country. The united nations have not accepted that yet. They are at peace. They are a glimmer of hope. Ethiopia invaded Somalia. Some people say we shouldn’t do nation building and others like it. The United States are trying to help Iraq and Afghanistan. The United States wants to stay there until these countries are stable. Some cases nation building works and sometimes it doesn’t work very well I learned a lot about Somalia today.
