So anyways, today we started off the class with a reminder of whats expected in our blogs. Because of the new pointing system, you will lose six points just if you do not put your personal opinions on them. I think that is super harsh, whoa, look, a personal opinion. Anyways... do not forget a personal opinion in your blogs! Oh, and... make sure you pull your blogs to the top of your page and put your projects on because you are losing points for something that is way super easy to do. Today students are going to start presenting on their chapter power points. We are starting with chapter five and going to chapter eight. Mr. Bruns thinks it would be a good idea to skim over the chapters before the test.Chapter 5Section 1Cultures Clash on the Prarie by Michyla HamiltonMany indians knew very little about what was east of the mississippi river. The Osage and Iowa tribes were tribes that planted and hunted by the lower part of the mississippi river. The lived in small villages. In 1598 the spanish brought over the horses to new mexico. After the mid 1800s many tribes started hunting buffalo. Most native american families spoke the same languages. The men of the tribes were usually like hunters and warriors and women took care of the home work stuff. Many settlers came west in search for gold, the native americans were not big fans of them. Gold and silver were definately the main reasons that people went to settle in the west. The gov't passed an act to allow the native americans to have all of the great plains, which did not last. Ten years later they broke the treaty. They continued doing that until the native americans were pushed to the worst reservations possible. Many native americans were nomadic, which means they moved around following the buffalo, but there were also some that stayed in one place and because like fishermen and farmers. People moved west because of cheap land, being in search of riches, a new start, adventure, farming, sheep herding, cattle ranching.
