The NYA, National Youth Administration was a New Deal Administration. It was conducted from 1935 to 1943. It was part of the Workers Progress Administration. What this did is pay students to do "work study" programs at there schools. It paid students from 6 to 40 dollars a month. More or less, it gave students work to have a source of income. The Administration was at the control of Aubrey Williams who was a liberal from the state of Alabama. She was helped out by Eleanor Rosevelt, President Rosevelt's wife.
Fireside Chats, were started in 1929 by President Rosevelt. The Fireside Chats, as they were called, were more or less the president having an oftem every month evening report on political issues. The reason Rosevelt did this, was because it helped the president have a strong backbone, which means having followers. This allowed him to have the whole country listen to him, as long as they had a radio. Ever since Rosevelt, presidents have given weekly adresses and also monthly very often.
