Today in CWI we went over the map to prepare for the test next Thursday. Next we continued talking about our iraq blogs. We talked about Saddam. He ruled Iraq from 1979-2003. He was captuered in 2006 and killed after going through the trial. Iraq invaded Kuwait because of oil and Iraq never really accepted Kuwait as a state.The main reason we went to war was to get Iraq out of Kuwait. We get a lot of pil from Iraq. We talked about the results and consequences of the Persian Gulf war. The first stage of this was called opearation dessert field. Economic senctions are restrictions put on aggressive countries rescticting imports and exports. We currently have economic senctions on cuba. We used to have them on Afganistan. Recently senctions have not been working very well. The whole country suffer from senctions like the common people. The seusical is tonight Bruns reminded us of that. Senctions were put on Iraq and then we sent troops over to saudi arabia. The goal was to have our forces just being there but it didnt work so we started attacking with missels and stuff. Once we invaded we took care of bussiness very quickly. We lost 148 people in the war. We takled about WMD's which are weapons of mass distruction. Tomorrow in class we will talk about why we invaded in 2003. Also there isnt a assigned blog this week which is super duper exciting (:
