Monday- Brittany Maynard ended her life on Saturday. She took the pill and was surrounded by loved ones as she died.
In one poll, Ernst was winning by 7%, but another poll shows that they are at a dead tie. Tom Harkin said Joni Ernst was good looking and smelled good. He said that if she looked like Michelle Obama, she was wrong for Iowa. Ernst was very offended by the remark. It is sexist. Republicans are saying it's sexist, but Tom Harkins is saying that you shouldn't vote for someone just because they are attractive or nice. You need to vote for people who have the same beliefs as you.

Oregon and Alaska will be making recreational marijuana use legal. Florida may make it medical legal. Other states will continue to do as they are.
4 children die everyday of abuse and neglect, 70% are under 3, and 40% are under 1. Every 10 seconds a call is made. 2.9 million reports of child abuse each year. $124 million costs us. 80% of abuse is neglect. Physical abuse is 18%, sexual abuse is 9%.

Tuesday- Today is election day.
Obama's plan is to continue to strengthen border security. Started building a fence along the border. Tall, metal fence. The fence can be climbed, cut, dug under, go around it, and it's un-American. It's what communists did to keep people from getting to Berlin. The Department of Homeland Security was in charge of the border. We need to crack down on people hiring illegal immigrants. Some times business' know what they are doing, but some don't. You can go to a website and check to see if the workers are legal or not. There are 11 or 12 illegal immigrants in the country. We won't be able to get all of them to leave and so Obama wants to do background checks and start paying taxes. They should play citizenship and they are going to have to pay taxes. Amnesty is where you are forgiven for everything and you may get a job.
Watched landmines video. They kill about 4,000 people a year with over half of them being children. In 1999, 25,000 were injured and most of them were killed. Some are to protect people. Our allies place them where we fell. Every 1 in 5 deaths of children are from landmines. People put them in the ground because they are trying to keep people out of an area. They put them on roads and sidewalks because that's where a lot of people are. They started during the Cold War and were used for protection. People walk through fields with a metal detector and find the landmines. Some military groups use them and violent groups use them like ISIS.
Wednesday- Marijuana is legal for recreational use in a couple of states in Alaska. Republicans took over as there are more republican governors than democrat. Most people in big cities vote for democrats. Most older people will be the ones that vote and young people don't care to vote. Watching a video tomorrow about an illegal immigrant.
