Next project will be on the 1920's and the 1930's. We will start this on Tuesday and Wednesday... the project will be in power point format, not blog discussion format. Chapter 9 and 10 quiz will take place at the same time.Latin American Govenments...The governments were overthrown on a consistant basis back then. All within several years that had like a bajillion leaders. The government hoarded everything, and the vast majority of the people were very poor. Leaders were always getting murdered and overthrown. New Mexico had a leader named Diez whom we supported, because he liked America. America controlled a lot of the mines and the railroads and other banks and stuff in Mexico and so the Mexicans hated us because their leader dude listened to us. Madero took over for Diez. Medero promised reform but he was killed in a couple weeks by Huerte, who then came into power. We did not want to recognize countries that came into power that did mean stuff like that. We did not want to recognize someone who came into power by butcherism. Caranza took over for Huerte.Caranza was more of a pro US guy at first... Pancho Villa started attacking and killed a dozen Americans in Mexico then went up to New Mexico and killed more Americans. We viewed this as an attack on the United States. This led to the United States inavding Mexico in 1915. Our military and their military clashed so it appeared that war would start... Caranze was muy sad. We pulled out and never found Poncha. Obregon took over that and became the first leader of Mexico to start reform.NO BLOG ASSIGNMENT FOR THE WEEK
