Gave the common people more power. Secret Ballot- go in and vote secretly. So people didn’t feel intimidated. Recall-(state by state) governor of the state, doing bad. People could issue a recall- forces governor to have an early election to re-vote. Initiative and referendum-initiate a bill if the people doesn’t like something if the government wont help them, they do something about it. Get enough signatures, it will go on a ballot when voting and if it gets enough votes, it will be a law. Direct Primary- allows the people to choose of the state who they wanted to run for office.6.
