shelby finished doing her blog and i came in later on so i only heard her talking about the eighteenth ammendment.chelsea,Working hours.mulllar vs. organ making the women work up to ten hours a day.early 1900's children sometimes worked up to nineteen hours a day with an hour break.the bunting vs organ1917 supreme court upheld a ten hour work day for men. about ten years later after they did this for the womenbefore it would be kinda' bad because they worked so much. a typical work day would probably be around 14 or 15 work hours.today 8 hours is typical. 40 hours a week.what did progressives do to make our country more democratic.?they always had white rich male, they thought they had to much power.Direct primaries became more common reduced political machines power.direct election of us senators - 17th amendment in 1913.these three state lever;secret ballit now, its where you go into a secret place like behind a curtan or anythingbefore, they didn't have it so secret and the other people could see the other peoples ballits.inititave.it was when the people would sign a thing and then that would initiate a bill in the congress.it alows the people start a billreferendum, when it alows the people to decide on concervental issue.
