1910's 

Music: Operas, Blues, Classical, Little bit of pop was starting to emerge, Jazz and Ragtime

Musicians: Opera: Madame Sherry, Our miss Gioba, Naughty Marietta, Blues: Big Bill Broonzy, Charley Patton, and Blind lemon Jefferson, Classical: Franz Schmidt

Fashion: Loose fitted, Women wore more comfortable dresses, Men wore mostly what they call lounge suits, with jackets that were longer than the suit jackets today, 

Fads: Ballroom dances, Movie theaters, Crossword puzzles 

Sports: Golf, Cycling, Tennis, Baseball, Boxing

Black sox scandal: * players from the white soxs threw the 1919 world series, Eddie Cicotte, Oscar Felsch, Arnold Gandil, Joe Jackson, Fred McMillan

Elections: William Taft become the 27th president 1909-1913, Woodrow Wilson became the 28th president 1913-to the end of the decade

Living: 22 cents per hour, Workers made 200 and 400$, Life expectancy for men was 47 years, for women was 50-51 years

Prices: eggs: 14 cents per dozen, Coffee 15 cents a pound, Meat varied between 10 cents to 40 cents  

Inventions: Oreo: 1912 by the national biscuit company, Stainless steel: invented by Harry Brearley, Blood banks: 1917, Gas mask

Facts: anything that was German was called liberty, Women helped a lot, Pigeons were important messengers, Dogs were used to defect mines
