Carentan
A group of Soldiers is separated from easy company. They are reunited at a town. Easy Company are going to the town Carentan to take it over so that they can assist the people on the beach and link up with another group. It is six days after D Day when they arrive Carentan. They town is full of German soldiers and after they enter the city the German artillery fires on the soldiers. They took Carentan but it was an important town to both sides, but Easy Company is supposed to move out to the front lines of battle where they get ambushed by a large German force and have to bed down for the night because their forces were matched. They ran into the force that retreated from the town Carentan. One of the men got stabbed his own guy in the middle of the night. 7 days after D Day, the Germans fire artillery on easy company and assault them with armored tanks and heavy machine gun fire, Easy company fires back with rocket launchers and return machine gun fire. When the 2nd armored arrives with their Sherman tanks they push the German infantry and tanks back. 25 days after D Day they have Easy company is assaulting a barn when one of the soldiers gets killed and that is where they have to move to the front line again after going to camp for a break in the fighting.
I liked this part because it showed Easy company and how well they fought against the German forces at Carentan. It displayed how well they were trained and that they were put in the front lines because they were the best and were always losing men and had to have replacements. It also showed that Easy company was always ready for whatever came their way.
