Wladyslaw Szpilman is a Jewish man that played the piano for a radio station during WWII. In the beginning the radio station ends up getting bombed. After this happens, they slowly become manipulated by Germans. They are forced to live in ghettos where they are starved and are forced to try to survive in a harsh environment.
Then, the families were forced to move to Treblinka. Szpilman was then saved by a Jewish police. He was then forces to be a slave. Szpilman and one other slave snuck weapons into the ghetto. They were just on the verge of being caught until he found someone he knew that also worked at the radio with him to help. He is then found by a neighbor and has to move to a different hiding place to where he almost starves to death. He sees many graphic things happen out of his window. He is then left searching for food by himself and gets caught by a man named Hosenfeld. This guy then realizes that he is a pianist and asks him to play at this building.
Hosenfeld provides him shelter and brings him food. Then, the Germans are forced to leave so Hosenfeld gives him his uniform and he gives him his name. Then some free prisoners pass by and hear a Hosenfeld call out and tell them to contact Szpilman. Szpliman is already back to playing for the radio and by the time he arrives all the prisoners are released.
I really wanted to watch Pearl Harbor but the video store didn't have it. So we all went to Taylor's and watched this. I thought it was alright I probably would have never even thought of watching it if we weren't supposed to. But, it was alright for the most part. I thought it was really sad what they were doing to the Jews.
