Today we are discussing our blogs. We watched WWII movies again. Our blog assignment this week is to blog about Pearl Harbor. We are to tell what happened, what the consequences were, and why Japan did what they did.
Brooke, Luke, Josh, Ashley, and Ray watched The Pianist. Its about this guy that played the piano on a radio station in Warsaw that got bombed and this guy was like running and he was saved by a Jewish policeman. They were slaves and they stole stuff but they always got caught. He got caught one time and they asked him if he was the pianist that played on the radio and then he was staying at this house with a Nazi soldier, I think. Nobody that watched it liked it. They thought it was terrible.
Steph and Shelbie watched Defiance. It’s about these three boys who were trying to escape the Warsaw ghetto. They went in the woods and they had like a community. They heard that their parents were killed so they started working and stuff. People were getting sick and they needed medicine and they became friends with the Russians. Germany heard that they were friends with them.
Alex and Kelsey B. watched Valkyrie. It’s this group of German people who were trying to kill Hitler. They tried to bomb him but it didn’t go off. He tried again but someone almost caught him so he just put a little bomb by Hitler. Someone moved it, not knowing that it was a bomb, and Hitler didn’t die. They wanted to kill him because they didn’t think that it was for the good of Germany.
Joe, Kody, and Nick watched Saving Private Ryan. He liked it. The D-day invasion was the best part. He thought it was funny when they had the wrong Ryan. Nick liked the ending.
Ian watched The Dirty Dozen. It’s about an army major who is selected for a mission. He has to pick 12 soldiers who were in prison. They start training and they become enemies with an army General. They were going to take all the prisoners back but they made like a deal thing.
