Today the first thing we did was go over our European map test. I really really really need to start studying for that because at this point, I couldn't pass. Next we went over the news share stories that Bruns assigned last week. We each were assigned one, and here they are. Dru's topic was cooperation in the UN and stuff. Obama and Russian addressed the UN and suggested we become more peaceful, like eliminating nuclear weapons. Next was Courtney. Her topic was that nearly one in four people in the world are Muslim. If you look at that the other way around, 3/4 are not. The most populated Muslim country is Indonesia.Jessica's topic was the 2016 Olympics. President and Mrs. Obama bid for it to be in Chicago, but they lost it to Rio de Jinero. Luke read about President Obama talking with the Iranian government. The UN is going over to inspect their underground nuclear sights. Justice did the story where Iran recently test fired two missiles. The international community is pretty upset about this, and this really doesn't help them out especially with their underground nuclear sight that was just discovered. Haley's topic was Obama holding a meeting on stopping nuclear lessons. He's just basically trying to find a non violent solution.Erin's topic was U.S. in Afghanistan. Our secretary of state, Hilary Clinton, and the defense secratary, Robert Gates, are agreeing that until the countries in the middle east are completely stable and rid of terrorists, the United States will continue to have troops in Iraq. The story that Max did was about the job unemployment rate. We basically have a really big unemployment rate right now. It is the highest it has been in 26 years.
