Well today in class, we went over the assigned blog topics for the next two weeks. They are the last two blogs we have to do for this clas!.....EVER! (: woo! Today we are going to finish up presentations, look over the Canada map, talk about the essentials for CWI, and finish blog discussion if we have time. Bruns told us about the essentials for CWI. You can find it on the message board and it tells you what you have to know for the semester test. I should probably start looking at that and start looking over it. If we do a blog including and answering all of the questions on the study guide, we should do good. Well, that was pretty overwhelming!Well we are going to watch the People Bomb tomorrow. Its over population - we need to know "How the video defines over population," "Causes of over population," and "Effects of over population." We will need to know those things for the semester test. Cheyna, Sequoya and Nicole started their presentation on Species Destruction. The Tasmanian Tiger, Quagga, Passenger Pigeon, Golden Toad are the animals that are now extinct in the past 100 years. There are a lot of critically endangered species as well. There are only about 50 Blue-star Tortoises left; that is crazy! The reasons for extinction are destruction of habitat, pollution, alien species, climate change, and overaspecialization.I learned that coral reefs are important because they help big waves from reaching the shore, they supply food to a lot of animals that hide. We can help by not polluting the seas with waste and try not to over fish. They finished their powerpoint and Bruns gave them suggestions and positive things. We did free choice blog discussions next. I did mine on suicide prevention. Haley did hers about how a guy got taken out by a kangaroo. WEIRD! The kangaroo started drowning the man's dog and then went after him. Well, we didn't get to go over the Canada map so I will definatelyyyyy need to study tonight!! eek!
