Imperialism: Bigger countries taking over weaker countries. Spanish/ American war: 1898, the U.S. took a lot of land from the Spain, we took over Cuba "kinda", Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Philippe's. WWI: 1914-1918, this war let the winners take colonies. The U.S. only fought for about a year and a half. Land grabbing war. The four powers we fought against were Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, and Ottawa Empire.
When did US get it, how did we get control, do we still have control over it today, and the location?
Northern Mariana Island
We took control after WWII 1970's from the Japanese. They didn't want to become independent so they got closer with the U.S. We still have control, the island is a U.S. territory. It is by the Philippines and Asia.
