Monday May 3rd

Today is Monday and it’s just another Monday. Slow and long. Mru bruns is finishing his mop up presentation.

Op Barbarosa was the greatest land war in recorded history. It began at three thirty a.m. on june 22 1941. german front was 995 miles long. By end of year 3,500,000 red army soldiers were in captivity.

We are supposed to know a little about the eastern front. Germany had three man pushes. Capture Leningrad capture Moscow and capture Stalingrad. They believed they could win this war if they were to catch those towns. Germans were in search for the oil fields. That was his main goal. Germans almost catch towns but then winter set in and Russians fought back slowly. It became tough for germany because their supply lines just kept getting longer and longer. Germany never actually got to Moscow but they got within 50 miles of it. August 30 1941 germany had pretty much conrolled them but not fully had control of Leningrad. Which was the major city in the north and made it difficult for people to get food because germany blockaided the town. The battle of the bulge was germanies last chance on the war. A lot of destruction happened in this battle.

Now to part three about japan.

We quit trading with japan after French indo china. Japan was in control of a lot of land in 1942. some key battles were battle of coral see and midway. Japn attacked the phillipines which was an American base. Japs were pretty cold hearted. Navajo code talkers played a very important roll because their language couldn’t be broken. Battle of coral sea was mostly a aircraft fight. This was one of the turning points of the war..
