  • THeir laws were no black and white marriges, forced removial of blacks, asians...
  • How it ended: Banks and other companies withdrew from the country saying they would not invest in it until they got rid of their racism, other countries pressured them to end their racism.

  • Rwanda was a part of Belgium long before 1994
  • The Tutsis were allowed to do more because they looked more like Europeans than the Hutus (Tutsis got better jobs, education, exc)

  • The fued between the Hutus and Tutsis remained
  • Belgiums came up with cards that determined if you were a Hutu or Tutsi wich could have led to life or death.
  • The attack was in 1959 and led to the death of thousands of people
  • In april 1994, the president of Rwanda was on a plane that got shot down, he died and was a Hutu
  • The president had just signed a peace agreement between the two
  • The Hutus blamed the Tutsis and a fight broke out
  • The fight continued for about a hundred days, and men, women, and children were killed. Until a cease fire was killed. -everyday people were going out and attacking random citizens
  • The Tutsis would push the Hutus to the Congo, untimetly the Tutsis might have won
