---Today in class we are doing a WTL quiz first of all. Then Mr. Bruns talked about us doing a video documentary for extra credit by Friday. Then we went to blog discussions over the movies that we watched.
---Saints and Soldiers was about Germans searching American prisoners and they were executed. The ones that escape get together with their one gun and they try to get back to their camp. They hide all over and they find a paratrooper in a tree and they got his revolver.
---Shindler’s list was about a girl’s journey between concentration camps. This boss saved a lot of the Jews because they made up most of their workers. Shindler was a Nazi who saved the Jews by letting them work for him so they couldn’t be taken.
---The Boy in the Striped PJ’s was about a German official that moves next to a concentration camp. There is a boy that never finds any friends and he wants to build a swing. He finally makes friends with a boy on the other side of the fence. It had a bad ending at it wasn’t really true.
---Saving Private Ryan was about 4 brothers in the Ryan family and three died. George Marshal ordered that the last brother would be brought home. It shows their invasion of D day and their rush to find him.
---Defiance is about Jews that were hiding in the forest. They join with the Soviet Union to stay alive. They started their own community and they only survived the bombs with their shelters.
---Flags of our Fathers is about the Second flag raising at Iwo Jima. They had to take down the first flag and put up a new flag. The marines had to take the heavily entrenched Japanese Island and most were cut down right away.
---Windtalkers is about a guy named Joe who was injured and he was partially deaf and cheated the test so he could go back to war and he became a general. He was to protect and Indian soldier who was codebreaker and talked in Navajo so Japan was unable to decipher their code.
