UNITED STATES
(not on the test)
The Treaty of Versailles was not actually signed by the United States because they believed in isolationism. They did infact sign a different Treaty of Germany. They had a democracy government. The political government which the representatives were elected by the people. Their leader was FDR. He was elected in 1932 and three times after that so he served four terms. He was commander and chief of the army and navy. FDR got us out of the Great Depression with the New Deal. He made a bunch of organizations with the New Deal and signed alot of bills. The Atlantic Charter was established in 1941. We established that we would not make peace with Germany until they are completely destroyed. It basically said that we would only make peace with the Nazi's when they were complete gone. This was before we were even at war. Germany was our major focus. The Yalta Conference was in 1945. It said the Germany would be seperated into four zones. The Soviet Union would get into war with Japan after Germany was defeated.
Their military strategy was to attack by air and they wanted to contain Germany so they could not expand, add troups, etc. Island hopping was one of our strategies. We provided alot of weapons and resources for the war, a major reason the allies won. We were making nuclear weapons so we could take out alot more stuff, alot faster. The US was part of the Big 3. We got of the depression because of tons of new jobs. 300,000 Americans died in result to the war.
