Today in class we are not having a class room discussion because we have not finished our presentations. Today we will be finishing up presentations.

Review-

JAPAN

Japan- Japan got a lot of land from Germany. They received German Islands.

1920 Japan joined the League of Nations. Great depression set in and Japan had very little resources. Because of the high tariffs on American products Japan could not get products. Japan wanted to invade a country to get resources and they invaded China. 1931 they went to war with China and later invaded the rest of China they haven’t already. The U.S stopped trading with Japan. Japan attacked the U.S to try and make us trade with them.

  1. How did the Treaty of Versailles impact them?

They did not actually sign the treaty but made other treaties with other countries.

2. What type(s) of government did this country have in the interwar years(1919-

1938)? - Democracy
3. How did their leader, that led them throughout WWII, come to power?

-Franklin Roosevelt elected in 1932
4. How did this leader change their country(for the better and worse) prior to WWII?

-Got the U.S out of the Great Depression with his New Deal
5. What were the goals of the leader?

-Wanted to divided Germany into four different zones- Yalta Conference-getting

into war with Germany
6. What was the military strategy of this country in the inter-war years(1919-1938)?

-Attack fast, Attack in the air so it was quick, Naval Bases, Island hoping.
7. What role did they play in WWII?

-Provided a lot of weapons and resources, made nuclear weapons.
8. Who were their allies in WWII?

-Big 3 Soviet Union, U.S
9. How did WWII impact/effect the country?

-Out of the Great Depression

-U.S became a super power

-50 million total died, 300,000 Americans died.
