WWII Project
Today the internet was having some major issues. Sam and Alex went presented and their country was America. America had a democracy, which means representatives were elected by the people. FDR was the leader in 1932, he served 4 terms. He was the Commander and Chief of the army and navy. Prior to WWII FDR got America out of the Great Depression with the New Deal. The Atlantic Charter was established in spring of 1941, we established that we would not make peace with Germany until the Nazis were completely destroyed. They also wanted to make sure all the land went back to who they belong. The Yalta Conference was in 1945, FDR wanted to separate Germany into 4 zones. The Soviet Union would get in the war with Japan after Germany was defeated. (Roosevelt, Churchill, Stalin, and Orlando) America’s military strategy was to attack in the air really quickly, they also wanted to have naval bases all over, and they wanted to contain Germany (focus on defeating Germany first). Ultimately island hoping was another strategy America used. The role America played in the war: We wanted to attack Germany first. We made lots of weapons, like nuclear weapons for us and our other allies. We had a lot of natural resources and so did our allies. The U.S. Soviet Union and . After the war the troops came back and the population went way up and so did our economy. We were a major dominate power in the world. 300,000 Americans died from the war. The Cold War started after WWII, it was between us and the Soviet Union.
