Today, we decided to do our test tomorrow and we did blog discussions today. The blog topic for this week is free choice.
amadiddygan- growing up he was really smart, joined the army to fight suddam, got 62% of the vote for presidency, believes isreal should be knocked off the face of the earth, believes that the U.S. set 9/11 up, and says the holocaust never happened. says he's only developing nuclear technology for energy, we don't believe him.
summer election of 2009- the runner-up started questioning the election and people started rioting. during the riot they started catching people with british passports. people believed the election was rigged.
united nations- giant international organization promoting peace, 6 branches inside the UN. general assembly- big part where all the countries are in it. 6 official languages. security council- maintain international peace, able to wage wars, most powerful in the UN, has to be a unonimus vote in order for things to be done. economic and social council, international court of justice, secretaryiet.
ali komenie- supreme leader of iran, religious, hand is paralyzed, supporter of amadiddygan, doesn't do interviews,
iran's nuclear program- we supported them at first, looking for uranium mines, we wanted to help at first and then we started to go against it because they have their system prefected. we want weapon inspectors to enter there, iran could be a bigger threat to us that iraq. nuclear power program could happen.
iran's role in the iraq war- the two countries have a lot of the same beliefs. iran is helping iraq fight us. they are helping to train iraq's army. supply terrorists, weapons
religon of iran- most are islamic, two main seccts: shei and suni.
