Today we did blog discussions on Iran. This week's topic is free choice so thats good. President Ahmedinejan grew up an islam and his mom is believed to be a direct bloodline from Mahamed. He was a very smart child and when Saddam invaded Iran he joined the army. He doesn't like Israel and thinks that we overexagerated 9/11 and that the Holocaust was staged. Many people believe that his re-election in 2009 was rigged since he recieved 62% of the votes and he didn't have the support the youth or large cities. The UN has 6 official languages and 3 branches: the General Assembly, the Security Council, the economic and agricultural council, the world court, and the secritariate council. The security council is the one that can wage war, they can send help and are probably the most powerful. the permanant 5 have the most say in going to war thn the others, they are the US, France, Great Britain, China, and Russia, a negative vote from one of them prevents a police action. The UN helps with international disputes, all the relief help, help third world countries. The supreme leader of Iran is Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He is a cleric and supporter of Ahmedinejad, but Ayatollah Ali Khamenei pulls the strings. Their goal with their nuclear program is to power the country without oil so they can sell the oil. In the beginning we wanted to help them with their nuclear programs but as they perfected their system we wanted them to stop as because as they progressed Israel began to fear a nuclear attack by Iran. Iran is starting to help iraq with training the soldiers to kill us and giving weapons to the Iraqis.
