Today was a blog discussion day over what movies we watched for this week.
Valkyrie is a movie about a group of people who tried to kill Hitler and take over the army. Valkyrie was the code word for this assassination and basically they got Hitler to sign a document saying that they would take control of the army 3 hours after Hitler dies if he were to die. They tried to set a bomb in a room full of higher german officers and it would have killed Hitler but the bag got bumped underneath the table so the bomb didnt explode directly underneath of Hitler. Nic and Austin watched Saving Private Ryan. They thought it was awesome. Austin's favorite part was when Private Ryan was in a fetal position(weird). Jenna and Erin watched the first episode of the Band of Brothers. Starts off with interviews of people who were war veterans. People of "easy company." It shows them training for camp and getting sent off to Europe for D-Day. Me and Ben watched The Pianist which was about a jewish pianist named Szpilman who escaped from slavery and hid in a house for awhile, while a german officer was stealing food for him. Kloewer watched Enemy at the Gates. This boy was put in the battle of Stallingrad and found a rifle but he was already a sharpshooter. He became a hero. Riley "Dorsal" Finn watched the Great Raid. It was about war in the pacific. When the Japs left the camp to go do something the U.S. found the camp and took all their meds and stuff. A lot of people didn't do their movie blogs which will hurt their grades badly. France's group presented today also. Kayley and Courtney presented on France.
