Today in class we did blog discussions on the movies that we watched. We have to do a blog this week on Pearl Harbor. We will do the last movie next week.

Tuskegee Airman was about black men joining the air force as pilots and they get trained and then they are there for six months after the start of the war. They were finally sent across the sea into North Africa and they were still treated badly. They became escort pilots for bombers going on runs for major cities.

The Great Raid was about the Raid on a Japanese POW camp. There were 500 Americans in the Philippine camp. They raid it and kill 700 guards and we have little casualties and it is a true story and they free the POWs.

Heart’s war is about a guy that was a POW. They were in a train car that was bombed by a P51 and they used dead bodies to spell out POW. He eventually dies.

The Pianist was about a family that was a Jewish family in Germany who wake up to find Germans taking Jews. It shows their struggles in the concentration camp and the ghetto. It was called the pianist because he was a pianist to a radio company. They smuggled guns into the ghetto and he was saved because he could play the piano.

Saving Private Ryan was great.

Jacob the Liar is about a man who lives in the ghettos and he was out past curfew and he didn’t take any food. He heard that the Russians were close to where they were. He took a little girl home without being caught. He lied about more news to help the morale of the people in the ghetto.

The last Band of Brothers was about them taking the Eagle’s nest where Germans were going to make their last stand. They celebrated and some of them died.
