Today we started out the class period with Mr. Bruns assigning the blog topics for next week. I got assigned the topic of Iran’s nuclear program. Then we started with our blog discussions. Dani did her blog on this woman in Memphis, Tennessee who went to her child’s school looking for another child’s parents. She ended up having a spitting match with the kid’s parents and she got charged for it. Cheryl did her blog about a survey that showed 12 year old children that are using inhalants. They used these in place of illegal drugs to get the same kind of high. Ana did her blog about the United States and Soviet Union trying to help Haiti. They are still in bad shape and we are trying to help them because some have to live in tents since they have no money at all. Chelsea did her blog on the no child left behind act. We talked about what it is. All children have to be at a 40% rank. It seems like right now nobody like the law and Obama wants to change it so it’s better. He wants to give it a new name and change the rule completely. Right now a lot of the schools who aren’t doing what they’re supposed to be are being punished for it. Obama wants to change it so that the schools that are doing the right thing are being rewarded. Shannon talked about her blog. She talked about people in China wanting to ban the eating of dog and cat meat. They think if the eating of it is banned then more people will think China is a more civilized place. Most of the dogs and cats were raised on farms like pigs and cows. Some of these animals were pets and stolen to be eaten. This just isn’t right and it should be stopped. China has already taken dog and cat off the menus for the olympics. There will be a big fine along with time in prison for anyone that eats dog or cat meat.
