The U.S. didn't suffer any damage because of the war so the European countries didn't think they should get much out of it. Wilson got to talk about his 14 points though. The biggest effect was that the U.S. went back into isolationism after WWI, and many people didn't want anything to do with forgeign affairs like the League of Nations.

2. What type(s) of government did this country have in the interwar years(1919-1938)?We returned to isolationism except making a few quiet treaties with Germany and Japan. The economy was booming, prohibition failed, and times were good. The Gov't was Laissez Faire Democracy. The Stock Market Crashed and the U.S. and the rest of the world when into the Great Depression. We passed Neutrality Acts, because we knew there was going to be another war and we didn't want to be in any war again even by giving anybody else goods.

3. How did their leader, that led them throughout WWII, come to power? FDR, he was elected on March 4, 1933 just 32 days after Hitler came to power. Then Hitler and FDR both died about the same time. Hiter killed himself though.

They have an emperor and a Prime minister that are governed by a constitution. Nicknamed the Taisho Democracy after the emperor.

3. How did their leader, that led them throughout WWII, come to power? Emperor Hirohito came to power because his father died. Even though he was the Emperor the Prime minister basically ran the country. Came to power in 1926. He changed his name to Showa because it was like a new time. Hideki Tojo was appointed the Army Minister in 1941. He had many military ties which the Emperor wanted. Tojo was for joining forces with Germany and Italy and his army won many battles.

5. What were the goals of the leader?
Japan wanted to gain an easy supply of resources from China. They wanted to take out the U.S. because we had a strong Navy that could take them out. After WWI they were worried about Germany and the Soviet Union coming up again and they felt like they were the only country left on the land in Europe that had to deal with these new forces(GB was an island so even though they were there France still fought alone). France focused so much on defense and they built a huge wall on their border but stopped. Germany just had to go through Belgium like in WWI. France's strategy was defensive.

7. What role did they play in WWII? Joined GB in 1938 to sign the Munich Pact, they let Hitler take over some of Chechaslovokia and all of Austria and then told France and GB that he wouldn't take over anymore land. They gave into Hitler's demands so that it could prevent war which obviouls didn't work. France declared war on Germany in 1939 but they surrendered by 1940. 9. How did WWII impact/effect the country? Even though the Allied powers won WWII China still went through communism in 1948. Throughout WWII Japan devastated China, murders, rapes, and just tore them down without remorse.

General: China was invaded, they never left their home country, Japan took a lot of land from China and were just terrible to them. Once the US came in and bombed Japan China finally did overcome and win. Also with how big China was and how many people were there it was just to much for Japan to overcome with how small they were.
