Today is Monday. The weekend just flew by. We started off today by talking a bit about the Stock Market Crash video that we watched last week. We talked about pooling, which is when a group of people pool together their money to buy large quantities of stocks, inflate the stock prices, and then sell the stocks for a large profit. At this time, the Federal Reserve system realized that the stock market was getting over-inflated. They rose interest rates in the country to try and prevent people from buying on credit. People took this the wrong way, panicked, and tried to sell all of their stocks so that they wouldn't lose everything. This bottomed out the economy and the Stock Market Crashed. We are going over our New Deal Project.: My topic is The Tenessee Valley Authority (TVA). I also have the critics and failings of the New Deal. I got Thompson. The New DealAlphabet Soup Organizations1933-1938Each student will be given several topics to research and present to the class.
